In what is purported to be the largest veterans biker event west of the Mississippi, bikers ride through the Colorado mountains from Woodland Park to Cripple Creek. This year nearly 4,000 veterans participated. The ride ends in the historic town of Cripple Creek, where the city puts on a Veterans Recognition Celebration consisting of parades down the street, the traveling Vietnam wall and events celebrating veterans all day and night long. Many of the Colorado Legion Riders volunteer their time to organize and sign up riders for the mountain ride.
