American Legion LeBron Post 58 (Guthrie, Okla.), represented by 2nd Vice Commander Doug Westbrook, presents a monetary donation to Richard Hendricks at the Territorial Capital Sports Museum (TCSM) for their hospitality during the 95th Annual '89er Days Celebration reception with Legionnaires, Purple Heart recipients, a World War II veteran, Gold Star Families and Blue Star Mothers, a program of The American Legion.
The museum is dedicated to the preservation and interpretation of Oklahoma's rich sports history. Their goal is to have a positive influence on young people by celebrating the accomplishments of Oklahoma athletes. Famous sports names and their artifacts inhabit every room in the TCSM. Baseball, basketball, football, the Olympics, golf and rodeo are represented with comprehensive gallery exhibits. Oklahoma Heisman Trophy Award winners, Final Four teams and Native American athletes are lauded with extensive collections, along with tributes to women in Oklahoma sports.
A gallery devoted to the Oklahoma High School Baseball Coaches Association's Hall of Fame is one of the highlights of the museum. Coach Hendricks and the dedicated museum volunteers will greet you at the door, show you around the galleries and tell you the fascinating stories of Oklahoma's sports history and its heroes.
