Photo: 4-year-old grandson at grave.
During a recent visit to family in Tennessee, the usual trips were made to various family graveyards. This is a cemetery by a church and has a playground. While the adults went to various graves, the grandson played on the gym equipment. We turned to go back to the vehicle and called for the grandson to come along as we walked away. Noticing he had not yet joined us, we turned to see him sitting at his grandfather's grave, touching his military marker and talking to his grandpa. Doubtless this picture is replicated across our country every day, so the name of the child and the cemetery is not important. Only the reflection of a little child remembering a loved one who gave honorable service to our country is to be imbedded in our hearts and minds. May God bless all of our military!
