John J. Morris Post 62 (Peoria, Ariz.) honored their Purple Heart veterans with a free dinner for them and their families. The back room was set up with decorations and tablecloths. Following their free meals they were presented with a cake. At 7 p.m. they were all welcomed into the social quarters for everyone in attendance to honor them and do the 7:00 toast. We are lucky to have them still with us, but the number is declining as several have had health issues in the last couple years. As the saying goes - all gave some and some gave all - the Purple Hearts while still living have given even more, especially those with serious injuries. They are a treasure we honor in our post, and everyone knows their names and thanks them on each visit.
