CSM Gary W. Crisp Post 289 supports Clarksville VA Veterans Expo

Clarksville, TN

Clarksville (Tenn.) CSM Gary W. Crisp American Legion Post 289 played a vital role in the success of the 2025 Clarksville VA Veterans Expo, held April 24 at the VA Clinic on Weatherly Drive. The event, organized by the Tennessee Valley Healthcare System, aimed to connect veterans with essential services and resources. Post 289's involvement underscored their commitment to supporting local veterans and fostering community engagement.
Members of Post 289 actively participated by staffing a information booth, membership signup that netted eight new members, and facilitating connections between veterans and various service providers. Their presence ensured that veterans had access to information on health-care enrollment, audiology services and support for homeless veterans, among other offerings. The event also featured music, food and a blood donation drive, creating a welcoming atmosphere for all attendees. Post 289 was honored to provide its Honor Guard to open the event by posting the colors. This collaboration between Post 289 and the VA clinic exemplifies the strong partnership between local veteran organizations and health-care providers in Clarksville. By working together, they continue to enhance the well-being of veterans and strengthen the bonds within the community.

Post 289 meets at 6 p.m. inside the First Presbyterian Church Activities and Outreach Center located at 215 Foster St. in Clarksville. All veterans are invited to attend. For more information about Post 289's initiatives and upcoming events, visit their official website at www.altnpost289.org.
