AUSTIN, Texas – (July 11, 2026) – Post Commander Lora McGee of American Post 297 in Benbrook, Texas, was presented the inaugural Dual Membership Award from the American Legion Auxiliary Department of Texas during the 107th Annual Convention of the American Legion Department of Texas, held at the Renaissance Austin Hotel.
Dual membership allows eligible individuals to join both the Legion and the American Legion Auxiliary. Female veterans who qualify for the Legion can hold membership in both organizations simultaneously, allowing them to actively support both the veterans' post and the Auxiliary's family-focused programs.
