As a way of continuing support of our local veterans, Rood-Williams Unit 271 in Tequesta, Fla., recently made a large donation to Semper FI Service Dogs. Semper FI is a nonprofit organization that trains service dogs for veterans with disabilities, including PTSD issues. Their motto is “No Vet Left Behind.” Owner/trainer Ryan Onda brought two dogs in training to our meeting and explained the process of pairing dogs with the right veterans, as well as the specialized training the dogs are put through.
