As across the country, John J. Morris Post 62 (Peoria, Ariz.) honored 9/11, Patriot Day, with special activities. The day began with the Riders pulling in to signal the start. Leaders from all four families carried in the honor flag with the names of those lost that day. The honor guard had a 21-gun salute and taps as the flag was lowered and put to half-staff. The post commander, Auxiliary president, Riders assistant director and SAL commander gave speeches. The chaplain gave a benediction, and everyone went back inside to talk about where they were and what they were doing when the attacks started. Never forget.
