I always wanted to serve, but life events put that desire on the back burner until I was too old to join and regretted not doing so in my youth.

When the Army raised its recruiting age to 40 I joined, and in 2008 I deployed to Afghanistan. I served 10 years and had the opportunity to attend annual training drills in Japan and Puerto Rico during my enlistment. I feel fortunate to have had the privilege of serving our country in uniform.
