I am writing to share my newly published memoir "Ash Woven," a story rooted in military service, family legacy, traumatic brain injury and the unseen battlefield of caregiving.
Here is a link to my recent national interview on the Fox & Friends Morning Show: https://www.foxnews.com/video/6393713043112
As an Army veteran, a North Carolina Post 116 member, military spouse and mother of nine - seven of whom have served or are serving - I wrote this book for families who understand that service does not end when the uniform comes off.
My oldest daughter, Kimmy, an Army officer and Afghanistan veteran, suffered a catastrophic TBI after returning from deployment, and our family’s mission became caregiving, advocacy and rebuilding from the ashes. "Ash Woven" recently reached bestseller status on Amazon in the military family and relationship categories, and our story has been featured on Fox & Friends and twice on PBS Newshour. My story speaks of our direct ancestry to revolutionary heroes like John Adams and Isaac Van Wart. I share how the legacy of service is alive and something that brings courage and strength.
