On Aug. 16, the Arizona American Legion College held its graduation with 24 graduates from the Legion, Auxiliary and SAL. The class was divided into four groups; each made presentations related to the four pillars and then put forward a resolution to work on for the department. The three-day class is packed with material as the first two days go to 14 hours training with working breakfast, lunch and dinner. On the final day the students tested to pass the course then put their presentations on. After these events the graduation started with each getting their diploma and then a group shot together. Arizona Legion College Dean Dr. Bobbie Kimelton kept everything moving and proceeding (often with smiles and laughs). Department Commander Ross Bergstresser thanked and saluted all the students; he is a former graduate. The graduates all talked about how much they learned, from the history of the Legion to running a post and everything in between. Congrats to our new graduates on a job well done!
