NVC Mathison visited Sheboygan and Plymouth, Wis., on Thursday, April 24, 2025, on a memorial visit to the Grand Army of the Republic Memorial site, Rhine Center, Sheboygan County, Sheboygan County Veteran's Memorial, Revolutionary Soldier burial memorial site, Wildwood Cemetery, Sheboygan, Hmong memorial site, Deland Park, along the shores of Lake Michigan, in Sheboygan County, as well as a visit to a Veteran's Memorial Trail in Plymouth. He also stopped by and talked with the Coast Guard personnel stationed at Sheboygan as well as the United States Army Reserve Center in Sheboygan. Mathison's visit to the military installations, outside the tour of the facilities, briefed the Station Chief (CG) and Senior NCOs (USAR) on the role The American Legion plays in supporting our active-duty forces through our legislation in Congress and how it assists veterans. Mathison ended his day at Ladewig-Zinkgraf American Legion Post 243, with a meet and greet with members of the post, and local dignitaries who were invited. A light lunch was provided with beverages. Mathison was provided with a gift bag from PDC Greg Eirich and Sheboygan County Commander DuWayne Wieck for his long day of visiting important sites around Sheboygan County. He thanked everyone for the full day of activities and was especially thankful for the Malibu of the Midwest shirt and local cheese and chocolate given to him.
