American Legion Post 340 has distributed LifeVac kits to the Winnsboro Police, Fire and Winnsboro ISD. All vehicles and schools will have a kit for use.

The American Legion has supported our community for many years, and this is our latest and maybe most timely activity. Our fundraising through various activities supports East Texas groups that serve our citizens. The principal fundraising activity is through two gun shows each year: one in the spring and one in the fall.

Our members who are veterans continue to support their country and community through this type of effort.

Post Commander John Whitsell has stated: “This is our largest contribution to the community yet and was only made possible through the hours of volunteer efforts of our members. We do this kind of activity because we are able to. Many of our comrades gave all, and so we do this to honor them.”
