Members of Post 2 assisted the Katherine Gaylord Chapter of the Daughters of the American revolution with this year's Wreaths Across America Ceramony at Lewis St. Cemetery in Bristol for 2025.
Post 2-member, Joe Caminiti, 101-year-old, Iwo Jima Survivor was part of the event. Joe placed the Marine Corp Flag on the services wreath and then placed a wreath on one of the stones.
Wreaths Across America learned of it and had Post 2 Historian talk about it on their Wreaths Across America radio program. He talked about Joe's part at the event and Joe's upcoming part on Feb. 20th when he will be part of a Wreath laying ceremony at the United States Marine Corp monument and then at the World War II monument in DC. for the 81st Reunion of Iwo Jima as part of the United States Marine Corps 250th Birthday.
Post 2 is working with DAR to expand to placing Wreaths on our Memorial BLVD in 2026. DAR will organize the event, Post 2 will assist.
