Department of Texas District 12 provides relief

Haltom City, TX

On July 16, District 12 Commander Chad Page and Post 655 Adjutant Amy King arrived at Post 208 in Kerrville, Texas, with the first load of disaster relief supplies. Both King and Page are certified on CERT (Citizen Emergency Response Team). After unloading supplies, they were assigned to a SAR team run by American Core, in partnership with Post 208.

Over the next several days, SAR teams led by and filled with Legion volunteers did detailed searches in assigned sectors of the Guadalupe River. While Page and King were out searching, Robin York from the 12th District was helping with the community food distribution and first responder supplies, all part of Post 208's efforts to support the communities it supports.
On Saturday, an additional trailer of supplies was delivered to Post 206 from the 12th District by members of Post 655, Haltom City, and Post 624, Mansfield. These supplies were quickly distributed to the areas needed and exhausted first responders.
