Women veterans of Post 116 enjoyed their special day!

Honoring our Post 116 women veterans

Fuquay-Varina , NC

On Sunday, American Legion Auxiliary Unit 116, with Auxiliary president Margie Worley Wesley, her leadership team and Auxiliary volunteers, graciously hosted a delightful brunch in honor of the women veterans of Post 116. Chef Michael Rasmussen customized breakfast omelettes and waffles for each guest! Special guest speaker Lashonda R. Harris shared a lot of valuable information pertinent to female veterans and their specific needs.
Approximately 30 remarkable women veterans gathered for this special occasion, where every detail was meticulously arranged to ensure a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Each veteran was presented with a gold coin, a heartfelt letter of appreciation for their service, an Auxiliary Poppy pin and a charming "Not every GI is a Joe" coffee cup.

The event was filled with joy as the veterans enjoyed taking group photographs, both by their respective branches and as a united group. They expressed deep gratitude for the kindness and thoughtfulness extended to them by our Auxiliary.
