On July 15, 2026, Gov. Bong Lacson of the Negros Occidental Provincial Government welcomed the Legionnaires of American Legion Post 63, Bacolod Negros Occidental, Philippines. Post 63 Commander George Soter sought a partnership with the provincial government as it advocates for the rights and benefits of military veterans and to the rival of interest in the Pvt. 1st Class Theodore C. Vinther monument during the courtesy visit at the governor’s office.
The governor, during the visit, was also informed that The American Legion is the largest U.S. veterans service organization, known for supporting veterans and their families, promoting patriotism and civic responsibility, supporting youth and community programs, and honoring the service and sacrifices of U.S. military personnel through commemorative and charitable initiatives.
