On Sept. 20, 2026, Holley-Riddle Post 21 proudly presented its annual POW/MIA Sunset Recognition Ceremony, a solemn event dedicated to honoring America's prisoners of war and those who remain missing in action. The ceremony serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made by servicemembers and the nation's ongoing commitment to remembering those who have not yet returned home.
A special contribution to the event came from Scout Troop 226, whose members played an integral role throughout the ceremony. The Scouts carried in the flags representing all six branches of the U.S. military and stood guard over them for the duration of the program. Their professionalism and dedication were evident as they respectfully marched in at attention, helping create an atmosphere of dignity and reverence.
Beyond their ceremonial duties, the Scouts also assisted with event setup and breakdown, demonstrating a strong spirit of service and teamwork. Their willingness to help ensured the ceremony ran smoothly from beginning to end.
Perhaps most importantly, the members of Scout Troop 226 displayed remarkable respect for the veterans in attendance and for the POWs and MIAs who are still unaccounted for. Their conduct reflected the values of honor, patriotism and remembrance.
Holley-Riddle Post 21 extends its appreciation to Scout Troop 226 for their outstanding participation and support. Their presence helped make the POW/MIA Sunset Recognition Ceremony a meaningful tribute to those who have sacrificed in service to our nation and a powerful reminder that America never forgets its missing heroes.
