On Dec. 6, John J. Morris Post 62 (Peoria, Ariz.) hosted their first graduation ceremony with Guitars 4 Vets. The classes started in September, and after 12 weeks of classes the students graduated. They all received new guitars along with other items. In a touching ceremony, they left the post to go to the hospital for the final graduate to get his guitar. James Hickman, MSgt USAF (still on active duty), was in an accident 10 days prior and was unable attend at the post. Hearing their stories told you how important these classes at Post 62 were to the veterans. A salute to Guitars 4 Vets; we look forward to new classes and new students after the first of the year. The plan is to have one-hour classes with new students, then another hour of level 2 classes for previous graduates to learn even more. Two students from this class are now going to become instructors with the next class. Thanks to all involved.
